Using Heat from the Sun

This photograph shows the Solar Water heater.

Pilkington K glass has been used throughout the building.

The conservatory.

Solar water heaters on the roof, produced by A.E.S raise the temperature of the water in the first instance and this can be topped up by the communal system. This is a way of using renewable energy to cut down running costs. Intelligent technology is used to monitor this system. Double-glazed windows with Pilkington K glass insulates rooms and provided the facility for passive solar gain. Conservatories, on the south-facing wall of the houses, give added living space and increase solar gain [the greenhouse effect].
