The Bullet Train . This is correctly known as the Shinkansen. It travels at speeds of
up to 200 km per hour. Sitting on such a train is rather like being on an aeroplane.
Very smooth, quiet and with lots of facilities available such as telephones. When
you stand on a platform awaiting the trains arrival you stand by numbers on the
platform which indicate the front and rear of each carriage. When the train arrives
it stops with the doors exactly by the points marked on the platform.

What do you notice about their distribution ( where they are ) ?
Why aren't, there more Shinkansen routes ?
Recently a new breed of Bullet Train has been developed which is capable of speeds up to 250 kmh. These trains will eventually replace the current older model.
