Osaka
Osaka is Japan's second largest city. It is a major industrial centre and is known
as Japan's most 'down-to-earth city'. It is a vibrant city and is increasingly
cosmopolitan. It was bombed heavily in World War 2 and is now a sprawling
endless expanse of buildings and elevated highways.

Osaka Castle is not an original building. It was built in 1931 as a reproduction of the original building which dated from 1583. In 1997 a major Renovation was completed. |
