Did you know that it takes over ten million years to make fossil fuels. Fossil fuels (gas, coal and oil) are made from dead sea creatures. Carbon based fuels are burnt in power stations to create steam which is used to turn turbines which then make generators produce electricity. This is how we get most of our electricity to use in our homes, schools and factories.

This sounds great, BUT while the power stations are burning all the fossil fuels to make electricity, they are also making pollution which creates problems like acid rain, and the carbon dioxide produced causes climate change.
