EMU Technical Support service has developed an Active Directory based network system with particular focus on the educational environment. We are currently in our fifth year continued development of the system.

The system based on a Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP workstation environment, provides management tools which allow network administrators to perform common management functions with ease such as software installation and user management. In addition tools are provided which allow the networked workstations to be locked down limiting access pupils have to change settings on these workstations.

Latest Update

Customers already running the Network Administration Centre have access to automatic updates. These updates are downloaded and installed automatically. You can however force your server to download the latest update by following the link below.

The latest update features support for Windows XP Service Pack 2, added protection against viruses and worms and additional tools such as disk space manager, offering disk quotoring by year group.

Element Description
This is the core module on the network system. It contains a number of small utilities to perform common tasks such as bulk user creation, user management and printer management. Most importantly, however, it contains The Network Administration Centre, the web based management tool which allows you to simply and effectively manage your network system

EMU Software contains pre built packages ready for allocation on your IT suite. (for software allocation see Chapter 7) These include some system packages that are allocated by default to all rooms together with other essential packages which can be installed as an option. These include MacromediaT Shockwave and AppleT Quicktime.

EMU also provides a route to procure new or replacement hardware for your network system including workstations, printers, scanners and servers. The EMU Drivers sets contain system drivers for nearly all hardware we sell. Installing these drivers sets onto your network system will allow the hardware to function correctly without having to manually install drivers.

Your network system security is managed by a set of policies. These policies can be customized to meet individual customer needs, however, we do provide a default set of policies for our network systems which are the result of many hours worth of research and testing.
