EMU offers a comprehensive
technical support service allowing schools to enjoy peace of mind, assured
by the fact that their ICT provision is in the hands of ICT professionals
with many years experience in the field. The technical support package

EMU
is able to supply ICT hardware, software and peripherals under competitive
tender arrangements. This means schools avoid the requirement to acquire
multiple quotations or run a tendering process before purchase. |
| Trouble
Shooting |
Technical staff
can visit you on-site to provide diagnosis and consequently provide
a solution to issues arising on a on ICT systems in school.
Using the broad technical knowledge base at EMU, common issues,
bug fixes and so on can be solved - often without the need for an
engineer to be sent to the site.

| Project
Management and Consultancy |
When
considering a new ICT suite, a complex upgrade to an existing suite
or even network infrastructure modifications, schools are often faced
with a minefield of suppliers, contractors and surveyors to manage.
In order to help ease this process EMU will assign a member of the
technical team to manage this process for you. |
| Repair
and Maintenance |
The
workshop offers schools a repairs and maintenance service which operated
across computer platforms. Engineers are trained to undertake repairs
on a variety of ICT equipment. |
| Commissioning |
Computer
supply and network commissioning features heavily in EMU's portfolio.
Commissioning usually combines with Project Management although support
is often given to schools who have engaged a third party in a network
installation. |
| Auditing |
EMU is equipped
to perform audits for personal computers, file servers, and associated
peripherals including network systems.
Auditing offers many advantages in developing and maintaining a
high standard of equipment and infrastructure in schools.

| Research
and Development |
The
evolution of technology is a rapid process and consequently, research
and development are an essential requirement to any ICT support service.
The EMU Technical Suport Service is no exception. Over the coming
year many research projects will be undertaken to assist schools in
using ICT effectively. - these will include further development with
Linux and Open Source, Remote access administration, wireless technologies
and Windows XP and .NET Server. |
| Website
Design |
EMU has expertise
in various areas of website design. In the first instance EMU can
provide a consultation service helping schools and other clients
document their requirements for web design.
Following on from the conception stage EMU will then construct design
templates giving customers a starting point to build up their website.
On-going help can be provided for schools and other clients during
this stage.
In addiditon, support can be given to add functionality to websites,
for example, integration with databases, online forms and so on.

Training is ongoing
for members of the EMU technical team who are enrolled on the Microsoft
Cetified Professionals programme and Redhat Linux Certified programs.
This provides schools with Microsoft and Linux solutions installed by
qualified engineers.
