Local Bandwidth Utilisation

Total Internet Bandwidth (all schools)

Your school connects to the Sandwell Schools Broadband Network. This is a Wide Area Network or WAN. The WAN has connection to the Internet across a 1Gigabit/s link provided by JaNET. The following graph shows the total utilisation of that link.

These are annual graphs, and will remain up to date showing average daily usage over the past 12 months. Please note the peaks and troughs in the graphs, you should be able to identify weekdays and weekends, as well as holiday periods.

Maintenance

Users should be aware that agreed regular maintenance times for the broadband service are as follows:

• Core network and server farm, including content caching and filtering
  Fridays after 5.00pm

• WM Regional network, Internet and UKERNA (SuperJanet) services
  Tuesdays 7.00am - 9.00am.
  The latter is in line with a national agreed schedule.
