In early 2004 a police officer in the National Capital Region of Canada discovered a local website where teenagers posted explicit photos of themselves and personal information. Concerned by the potential danger this put the teens in from online predators, he approached local police agencies and Internet 101 was born. Internet 101 is not intended to replace other online resources, but rather to be a “gateway” to existing websites (recognized and used by police themselves). It is also a collection of presentations, safety tips and other resources contributed by educational partners, for the benefit of parents, teachers and police across Canada. The rest of the site is worth looking around and it's all available in French!
